2018 IAOS General Meeting
in Beautiful Ireland!

The 2018 IAOS General Meeting will be held in conjunction with the prestigious Mayo Arthroplasty Conference (MAC), one of Ireland’s largest orthopaedic meetings. This exciting conference is a great place to meet with friends and colleagues from the US and Europe to collaborate or exchange ideas, and offers an incredible setting for a family vacation.

April 20-22
Knockranny House Hotel
Westport, Co. Mayo

MAC/IAOS Registration is now available
at mayoarthroplastyconference.ie

The MAC meeting has become one of the largest orthopaedic meetings in Ireland. County Mayo is quite beautiful and Ireland in April should be spectacular. The IAOS meeting will take place on the afternoon of Friday, April 20, where we will present papers and talks on various orthopaedic subjects. We would like to hear from Members who wish to present on ANY Orthopaedic subject…it does not have to be an arthroplasty topic. Please send us an email at Michael.Muldoon.MD@gmail.com and ermcdevitt@hotmail.com or iaos@datatrace.com if you have an interest in presenting.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Gerald R. Williams, Jr. is the recipient of this year’s IAOS/MAC Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring outstanding physicians and their contributions to the field of Orthopaedic Medicine.

The First Secretary of the American Embassy of Ireland will present the award to Dr. Williams at the upcoming 2018 IAOS/MAC Meeting being held April 20-22 in Westport, Ireland. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the life of Dr. Williams whose influence as an educator, a thought leader, and a role model to orthopaedic residents and physicians worldwide, made him the unanimous choice for this prestigious award, according to the Irish-American Orthopaedic Society (IAOS) Board of Directors and the Mayo Arthroplasty Conference (MAC) Committee.

Dr. Williams, past president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), is a board-certified shoulder specialist and Director of the Shoulder and Elbow Center at Rothman Institute. His areas of expertise include shoulder replacement, shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, and shoulder dislocations, among other areas. He is also the John M. Fenlin, Jr., MD, Professor of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Williams and his wife Robin have two children, Mark and Alexis. We also understand he has a mean handicap on the links.

We would love to see you at the IAOS General Meeting, but please remember, you must be a member in good standing. Your 2017 IAOS dues, as well as your 2018 dues, must be current, in order to attend.
